I'm installing a volt meter gauge in my car. I'm just wonderining where have people hooked the wire that reads the Volts up to. Thanks I've heard of ppl running them thru a fuse I jus need to know which one thank you

Why a volt meter? I would choose so many more things to monitor instead of that.
If you have to, any 12v switched circuit should tell you voltage of the car. If you want truly accurate readings hack into the alternator wiring.

Never heard of someone installing a volt meter before but whatever floats your boat.

I have heard of a lot of subaru guys do this because they have voltage drop issues on the highway.
All you have to do though like he said is just hook it up to the battery with the ground wire switch to turn it on and off. Simple

honestly, the only need to check voltage on this car is to make sure your fuel pump is receiving enough voltage/current to function correctly and not starve your engine during high rpms and aggressive driving (which is why people relay their fuel pumps). not telling you its a dumb idea, but its unnecessary.
if you were to do it though, you need to throw your gauge's signal/pos+ wire on the alternator output terminal and ground the gauge's neg- wire to the chassis. no sense having the gauge unless you're measuring at the source.
