sr20 redtop valve cover swap

I know you probably can but can you swap a redtop to a blacktop valve cover, my buddy has a white blacktop valve cover and I wanted to put it on my redtop.

I already swapped it and it appeared to be fine, my carbon fiber coil pack cover does not fit now, I guess that is where I am having my concern it fit my s13 perfect, but the s14 valve covers holes are different in the middle of the coil pack cover.

What makes you thing an S14 cover would fit on an S13 SR head? Notice the difference between the front of the head? :picardfp:

Isn't that a notch top, the valve cover I have now does not have that, means it is a s13 so why would my carbon fiber coil pack cover not fit? I wet from a s13 to another s13 according to the information you provided

Notched tops are S14 or S15 SR valve covers. S13s doesnt have the VTC hump up front, thats the biggest reason why you cant interchange between S13 and S14/15 covers. Even S14 and S15s are slightly different. Difference between the 2 is the coilpack holes. S15s has a smaller coilpack holes for the skinnier S15 coilpacks.

Alright so I guess I was told the wrong info on my valve cover, why couldn't I use my coil pack cover then? It fits the old one perfect, but the holes do not line up on the "new" one

Take pictures of the top...never heard of anything different betwee S13 redtop and S13 blacktop covers, not even the coilpack covers. Only thing I can think off is that one of them got redrilled for some reason.
