Ok. I know that you have to unplug the brown tps to adjust the timing on a rb25 s2. My question is, do I use the reading from the timing light from the plug being plugged in or unplugged. When I have the plug out I can get the timing to 15 and then when I plug it back it, the car idles rough. No matter what when I unplug it while the car is running, the car dies and I have to start it up with the plug out. Does this throw it off? Last, when the plug is in, should the reading I get be no where near the 15 degree mark?

Should I unplug, adjust, plug in, read marks, if not 15 WITH plugged in, adjust again?

Thanks.

Anyone shed some light on this?

My idle was always high around 1200. I have the iacv screw all the way in and I have no leaks after doing a few test. So I backed off the throttle position screw so that I got the idle down to 700. I then checked my timing and it was 30 advanced. So I backed it down to 15 and I will give it a try.
This time when I unplugged the brown plug with the idle at 700, the car didn't die. But after I timed the car, plugged it back in, shut the car off and started it back up, it kept on dieing. I didn't try driving the car, only pulled it into the garage.
