I own a 95 240sx and in the future am looking to do a 2jz swap. I know how much the parts and pretty much everything I need will be. But when it comes to finding a motor and a transmission I've found prices from 2,500$ to $8k... So what would be a reasonable price for a 2jz motor and tranny 5 speed, I live in California just trying to get a estimate and if you have done a swap yourself how much did everything cost roughly? Thanks!

All depends on what you're getting the 2JZ out of it? You can get 2JZ engines from JDM Aristos for about $2k ballpark. Kicker is, you need a transmission. The Aristos almost always only comes with auto tranny so you need to get a manual transmission. You have cheap and expensive options. w58s and R154 are off the MKIII Supras and SC300s/Chasers and can be had for roughly $1k. 6-speed V160 getrags will run you anywhere from $4K-7K...

I would budget the entire swap in a 240sx for about $10,000 if you want to do it right.

The whole car sells for about $17,700 done, and the base chassis is $4500, the paint is $3200.
