Get a voltmeter, test your battery with the car off.

If it's not between 11.5 and 12.5 your battery is done.

Once you jumpstart the car and get it idling on its own, test the battery voltage again. Not running higher than 12.5? Your alternator is shit.

Ok thanks. Battery was bought by previous owner from autozone I have a receipt so definitely will test it. I'm hoping it's the alternator and it brought the battery to shit.

My initial thought was alternator cause it wouldn't start back up after charge and running for a while both times it died in 3rd is what made me confused and guess dizzy.
