Ok so I swapped my stock turbo out the other day for an identical one (gt25) and it smoked like mad and was getting irratic boost readouts. So I took it out and put my old one back in. I also swapped out the wg actuator and removed the recirc valve and put in a emusa bov. So I took it out for a drive and a coupler popped off and it bogged out and died. I limped it back home. Put the coupler back on and tighted everything. The proplem is, now it wont build boost very high. I get a max of around 5psi and it takes along while to get it that high. I tried running without an mbc and swapped in my old wg actuator and still no results. Any ideas?? I couldn't find any boost leaks. It idles and drives fine without sputters or hicups. Just wont build boost.

Could be that the bov you installed is not properly sealed and is leaking under boost. Or the actuators are not functioning since running with no mbc shows no difference.

Take off the turbo elbow and apply pressure to the wastegate actuator and see if it opens and closes properly.

Ok so I took off the bov and the crappy adapter pipe its on and put the recirc back in. Problem solved. I think it had a leak where the adapter plums into the hot pipe. Had to stretch the coupler on to it cuz the adapter piping is bigger by 1\4 inch.
