I'm running a 1JZ VVTI, and i'm looking to add an oil catch can to the mix!
At the moment I am running my setup like with my exhaust side vented to open atmospher, and the intake side with a pcv valve routed to the intake manifold.

What i want to do is install AN fittings and route both the intake and exhaust side to the catch can, then run a line from the catch can to pre turbo.
Is there a particular catch can that has 3 ports? I am only able to find catch cans with only 2.. If that's the case then, maybe this would be the best way to route it..?

ALSO, what are the typical AN fittings used for valve covers? -10?
I plan on running about 400-500whp at around 20-25psi...
any input would be awesome!

set it up like stock. Valvecover gets pulled on by the intake manifold via 1-way check valve, and it gets pull from the turbocharger inlet during boost.
Use small diameter hoses, as short as possible for max pressure differential.
Adding a catch can is not desirable unless you think you are going to blow something up catastrophic style and have oil come pouring out of the valvecover.

I want to elminate any chance of oil entering into the piston chamber, i don't want it to detonate, i'm sure i'll be seeing a little blow by at the amount of boost im running and what im gonna use the car for.

Custom make your own to fit ..Mine was made to fit at the wiper motor area..

Look into the vibrant exhaust venturi. No chance of any oil ever getting into the intake and you are still pulling a vac on the system. No need for a catch can either.

I am hearing a lot of mixxed things about running it to the exhaust.. I want to do that! but, it almost seems more effective to run in front of the turbo with a catch can in between.

Inert air wasting your turbos ability and oil vapor will still get past the can. In the exhaust you really need to get it at the right angle. A bend too close or something causing turbulance or back pressure can effect it as well. If your exhaust is free flowing there are many places to choose from.

I like the idea of the exhaust setup. I think thats going to be the route ill be taking (2jz/S13 w/PT6266)

I have mine routed to the exhaust and it pulls some serious vac at idle, I can't even imagine under WOT.

Jr-ss are you using the venturi to pull vac in the catch can (valve cover / catch can / venturi) or strait valve cover to venturi ?

when you say venturi, you mean just having the lines run from valve cover to turbo elbow correct? Is there any sort of one way restrictor or anything like that you have to put in between??

The venturi is a part that goes into the exhaust. Moroso makes one and vibrant makes one. The vibrant looks of better quality but I have not compared them. Vibrant makes a check that I am going to use on this setup although i doubt its necessary. If I didnt have a stock pcv valve in place I would not worry about it but I dont want it egr'ing through my valvecover in case my vac can overcome the exhaust venturi.

I'm using the Venturi to pull vac on my can, which then pulls from the valve cover.

my main question now is, by running a T -AN fitting like what is pictured above, then running the line right into a venturi.. would that be effective? or should i run 2 separate lines to the exhaust?

That should be effective enough. I have two lines from my VC to my can, but that's because my can had two AN fittings welded to it.

In my build thread there are quite a few. I don't have time to post any here right now.
