Alright so first off i have a zenki notchtop sr20 . I just relocated my battery to the trunk and i am not getting a spark or power to my coil packs. Im not getting any reading when i test for resistance in my coil pack harness pigtails. Ive been searching around for ways to diagnose this but really I am just looking for someone to point me in a direction of where to look for a wiring problem. My best theory is that i may have disconnected something when cramming the 2 gauge +ve wire through the fire wall where the main harness wires go to the ecu. Im really just stumped. This is my first sr btw and prior to the relocation it was starting up like a champ!

I will add the the ground is still on the back of the head and wasnt touched so that shouldnt be the problem

When you connected the 2g + wire to the battery terminal/lug, did you make sure everything was connected that needed to be connected to it?

Besides the coil packs, is there anything else not working?
This could all be related to the relocation you performed, and that could be simply a missing ground, broken wire, depinned wire, to a blown fuse. I seen something similar to this happen, when people ground to the rear strut tower for the battery ground. Someone might be able to guess what you missed, but you should just run through your relocation to make sure everything is connected correctly and firmly.
Verify that every thing else is working, like does the ecu have power? Do your lights works? Does the fuel pump prime, etc.

Yes the lights all work, I smell fuel when i turn it over, rad fan goes on, etc. The ign. Fuse is good. There is a small red wire sticking out of the ecu but after looking at a wiring diagram it appears that it should be out, I may be wrong

And fliprayzin: yes the connections are identical

Can someone tell me how to trouble shoot no power to the ignition system. Like where to look for something that may have disconnected around the ecu or fuse box

Try grounding the battery directly to the engine and see if it cranks.
That can rule out a ground problem at least.

Already tried that.

It ran before you did the relocation right? Where did you mate the 2g battery wire to the starter and other 2 wires? Did you get good connections with your cable ends?

Yes it did run. I just connected the new positive bat. Wire to the same wires that wwere on the original bat. Terminal. Checked the connections and I'm getting the same voltage up front as the battery is in the trunk. I checked the three relays In the passenger side kick panel where the ecu is and they are not blown as I do get a continuity reading.

I think something got disconnected at the original terminal that you're not noticing. You tried putting the battery back to the front and trying to start it again? Running an inline fuse to the battery relocation that may have popped?

I tried the original set up . I'll take a closer look at the wires near the battery.

Anyone know what a red /w silver hashes wire does? It plucked out of the ecu.

Look for the Ecu pinout and where a wire
Is missing.

Alright after doing some tests out of the fsm here's what I found out. I do get continuity between my ignitor chip and coil pack sub harness, but I don't get continuity between my ecu and ignitor chip or ecu and sub harness. That would make sense because when I jammed the 2g wire through the firewall I must hit something. Now here's what I need: who can tell me what it might be, I'm pretty sure there's a few connectors behind the passenger dash. Just need to know before I remove the dash.
