Hey so i searched around and i couldnt find any thread that actually explains the proper method to do the thermostat boiling test method. My car overheated and i feel like its either the thermostat or waterpump probelm but if anyone has done it or knows how please explain throughly

Boil water. Drop thermo in it. If it opens in 10-30 seconds its good. If it doesnt its bad. Easy peasy.

If you need a new thermo, go buy it from NAPA. They sell pretty much OEM quality thermo, unlike the ones you get from autozone.

Whats a good way to remove thermostat housing?. I took out the 3 bolts and this shit is stuck.

A good whack from a rubber mallet or your fist should do it. The sealant is probably holding it pretty tight if it hasnt been removed in a while.

I need that mallet. I was banging it with my palm but i couldnt make it budge. Im pretty sure its been on there for years
