power steering problem

had to change my power steering/fan belt whatever it eas old, loosened the 2 bolts, put the new belt on tightened them up and now I have know power steering :werd , its got 250, 000 kms on it could it just have died now to mess with my mind? I can spin the pulley just fine its not to tight or seized any help would be appreciated .

That's strange to say the least. You did make sure you loosened the big bolt (14mm head) and and then the adjuster stop bolt, and then tighten the tensioner/adjuster, and then re tighten that jam nut and the upper one?

Unless you somehow ruined a hose when moving the pump, but you'd see the oil everywhere. Seems like you just didn't tension it enough (which should cause a loud squeal)
