Hey guys some of you might know this car. I got it thinking it was a deal and well it wasn't a lot of rust everywhere wasn't taken care of at all. I wish I had more engine bay pics of when I took out the sr20 but sadly I don't. The car will be built and tuned in house at Gonzy tuning. A lot of the supra guys might know him and his work.

Everyone has there own opinion. I actually am the tuner so I would love your input as to why you say it's garbage. Many say the same about aem.

Its a bit difficult to set up considering you have to wire everything up yourself. And it's different then setting up a aem or any of the newer standalones, but it has great features more then most standalones. The ve tuning makes up for wiring everything up yourself. I'm not saying your wrong everyone has there good and bad reviews but you won't be disappointed with my setup :). Haha

What's the advantage of using the 1JZ head on the 2JZ block? Looks like a promising build! Keep it up!
Kioes
12-23-2013, 09:09 PM
Essentially the 1j head flows a bit better, the 2j head for example has a bit more restriction around 5th and 6th cylinder due to casting shapes and the 1j also has slightly bigger exhaust valves (yet 2j's intake valves are slightly bigger) but you also gain slightly higher compression and 500cc more displacement using the 1j head on the 2j block apparently.
That info is bassed on stock heads though, which realistically are still good for large power.

Right just slightly higher. See what it can do. :) I have to put pics up of the head being cleaned up port and polished and springs retainers and cams being put in. I also have pics of the oil pan being switched from rear sump to front sump. Bare with me as I have to upload them. Soon enough :).

Did you go bigger intake valves to get the best of both worlds? (Example, 1j head already having bigger exhaust valves then 2J)

Too bad this car wasnt what we expected it to be when we bought it. it looked so nice from pics but when we started to take it apart it was obvious that it needed much work. its gonna be a beast when its done regardless and you know its gonna be built right and Gonzy's.
