I've been doing some research and have narrowed it down to two aftermarket sr20 oil pans. 1. Tomei oil pan and 2. Moroso Oil pan. In my searching the biggest difference that I found was that the tomei oil pan was made out of steel and the Moroso is made out of Aluminum. Any other differences that I may be overlooking before I make my decision? Any advice from any of you guys that run either oil pan? Any feedback would be great thanks.

Lol well thanks for the feed back. The Tomei is definanitley a work of art! And at $320 it is a reasonable price for such a great oil pan.

^^Yup... Tomei is awesome. It was still about $500 when I bought mine- but I'm not the least bit sorry for having splurged. The quality is amazing & the welds look nearly robotic they're so precise...

The Moroso pan is still pretty badass tho... If your budget doesn't permit the Tomei, it will do nicely... This is one area where you DO NOT want to settle for anything less than a quality, proven part- both pans you mention fit that bill.

Mikester thanks for your input. I'm leaning towards the Moroso simply only because I found a pretty sweet deal on it. But if that doesn't pan out I will most def be purchasing the Tomei. I agree on not cheaping out on such an important part like this, don't wanna have to replace it again and with a quality pan from either Tomei or Moroso I won't have to.

I've have a Moroso pan, works great for me. I was in the same boat you are with the Tomei pan. Both are quality pieces. I ended up with the Moroso because I got a great deal. I actually got two pans for the price of one lol, long story.

Can't go wrong with either. :)

^^Serge, a quality aftermarket oil pan definitely makes a difference over a cheap-o knockoff... but in the event of oil pan failure, replacing the pan itself could end up being the least of your worries lol... Anything even remotely dealing with your internals is not a place to skimp- glad to see you're thinking with a clear head.

For those considering ISIS, FReddy etc pans- your best bet besides a quality replacement is to keep it OEM.

The only knockoff pan that I've seen that seems like an OK piece is the circuit sports pan. It's a knockoff of the Tomei pan, except it has a groove for RTV on the flange which I think the tomei lacks. If it was cast then I would say avoid, but it's stainless steel.

Anyhow, it seems like a quality piece, and it's $200.

I normally wouldn't brag about knockoff but I read a lot of really good reviews on the CS pan so I bought it. The quality is excellent inside and out. I have zero complaints about it.

Don't forget the Canton Oil Pan that is now available as well!

Codyace I did consider the canton oil pan but it just came down to me getting a good price on the Moroso otherwise I'd of gone with the Tomei pan. Can't wait to receive it and install it. Thanks for all the feed back guys.
