Just wanted to pick zilvians brains(zombie time) on what you think you need to make a street worthy 350whp on an SR20. I have a blacktop Longblock that I'm building and I'm trying to plan a budget for it. I'm open ears! Thanks for the info in advance!

Search. Theirs plenty of threads like this. Get ready to get flamed.

To hit 350whp, your probably going to want a GT2871 turbo, or better. I'm running an S15 T28 and it maxes out at around 320whp. And with the turbo comes all your supporting mods. Injectors, Fuel Pump, Big ass Front Mount, etc.

The most important piece? Your ECU and tune. You going to want a standalone if you want a RELIABLE 350whp as mentioned.

As for the motor. My stock internal blacktop (although it has aftermarket cams, valve springs, rocker arm stoppers) has 100k+ miles on it, pushing 300whp, 160 across all 4 cylinders. Its all in the tune. And I plan on upgrading to a GT2871 in the near future.

Again, I don't know your budget, but if you got the dough, forged internals errrrythang.

I think what you're looking for is called an ls1? but not entirely sure.

A V8? *yawn*

Rednecks are taking over drifting world.

Sorry, we're keepin it OG with the SR.

To each their own, I like both.

Get an SR with 850cc inj, z32 maf, upgraded fuel pump, fmic, and a decent tune, Run e85 with any turbo 2871r or larger and youll be in the money.. Hell i ran a t28 on 15psi with e85 and put down 300 with a cheap rom tune.

Been my daily for 3 years now

^solid.

But is this dude trying to daily the car? Probably get it tuned for 91, a GOOD tune. Do step 1 cams. You'll make a bunch more power

The best thing to do is to set out a plan/goal to fit your budget and do some research. It will make you feel better about what your building. Everyone has there own opinion, this i better than that arguments..... Here is a very good thread http://zilvia.net/f/tech-talk/124925-gt2871-users-sr-motor.html

Yes, please...

Standalone is not needed and quite overkill for these power levels...

Again, I don't know your budget, but if you got the dough, forged internals errrrythang.

No need for forged internals either. Stock SR's have been known to hold up well up to the 400rwhp levels. Head studs should be upgraded, as well as the other supporting mods.

Just to touch base on the whole RELIABLE part of the question, its a really good Idea to invest in the the proper cooling components (especially since SR's are known to run hot). If your trying to truly make your SR do 350+ reliably oil coolers are a must.

Does anyone know what a stock sr with a fresh oem rebuild including metal head gasket and upgraded head studs can hold? I'm trying to do a setup base off a stock motor.

Id just get an aftermarket radiator.
I live in phoenix arizona and I used to DD the SR with A/c.
The stock radiator was not up for the job, but after switching to a KOYO i did not ever see the temperature rise again.

Oil cooler would definitely be a nice upgrade especially if the car sees a lot of summer track time.

Intercooler, Z32 MAF, Standalone or Nistune daughter board, 550cc+ injectors, fuel Pump, bigger Turbo, exhaust system. I think thats all you need if you want to have power near 350whp. if you upgrade your engine would be better for that 350whp.

i think safe power for stock SR20 its not more that 320whp.
