Ok so I just finished swapping my blown blacktop sr with a fresh redtop Longblock. I set the timing at 0 deg. It started up first try and idled at a perfect 850 rpm, so I didn't adjust anything in terms if timing. After I finished burping the coolant system I turned the car off. Went back to move it and it wouldn't start:/ it cranks over fine but it seems like there is no spark. Here is what I have to do to start it.
•crank it over
•then unplug the injectors
•crank it and give it gas
•it starts but runs rough
•then plug in the injectors and it runs fine
Is there any ideas as to why it won't start with the injectors plugged in but will when they aren't?
Thanks for the help in advance!

set your timing correctly when you get it started!
you are dumping fuel, probably just because the timing is wrong. with the cylinders filled with fuel cranking and opening the throttle help clear out enough fuel to start. running rough should be apparent. leave timing as is and expect to replace valves and or con/rods at best. Or replace it with another long block.
Set the timing correctly!

Ok I'll do that today after work. Any opinions on what I should set it at? I've read that stock is 13deg btdc and some people say 17deg on a higher octane fuel will squeeze out a few extra ponies with out running lean.

Did my timing at 15 deg btdc and it still won't start with having to do that injector bs. Had a buddy say it's a leaky injector. Going to Jim Wolf tomorrow to have them bench tested this week. Hopefully it fixes the problem.

check ecu for codes, clear self-learn, remove fuel rail /w injectors and do a koeoff test, watch for leaks. if its just the o-rings your winning!

Sounds like leaky injector to me. Check the spark plugs for carbon fowling. Your could also put the tip of the screw driver on top of an injector and listen for clicking through the handle.
