So I fully rebuilt my 93 KA24DE and I'm having some issues with getting her to idle... She idles well and has nice throttle response without the MAF plugged in. MAF goes in, she revs up then dies. Will barely start with MAF plugged in and dies soonafter. MAF was tested good on another KA and I even replaced it with another tested MAF so I know the sensor isn't the problem. Wiring harness is new and uncut/fucked with. I cleaned the shit out of the IACV after taking it off and resealing it. Nothing seems to be helping...

this happened to my buddies and it was just because it had gotten wet... we dried it off with a rag and everything was fine.. but, i doubt that could be the case there. never hurt to try though..

Out of curiosity is the MAF facing the right direction in respect to airflow? I know that seems like that is a dumb question but work your way from there. In the vid it looked like the connector was connecting in from the outside rather than the inside, that's why I asked. Check your harness too and if not then maybe it's your MAF that you replaced from another vehicle (?).

my manual is for a 97 240 , it says you should have 12v on terminal 3 of the connector that plugs into the maf plug . looking at the connector pins with the lock on top #3 should be 3rd from the left .
ign off unplug the connector , turn on ign , measure the volts for battery voltage , should be about 12v .
i always spray the maf sensor with autozone brake cleaner to remove any oil or dust.
you could also try a different ecm .

any codes show up?
i always use maf cleaner.
the brake cleaner might damage the sensor.
what about that hose thats missing fromthe valve cover to the intake?
my ka bogs then dies when disconnected.

Still having this issue. MAF is cleaned and I have tried two that were known working; no help. I got a code 13 for CTS and I replaced that but the code doesn't seem to want to clear. Car bogs and dies when not in forced safe mode. Runs rich as fuck no matter what I do.

That is a very strange problem... The KADE should go into limp mode without an MAF... Mine did. With an MAF and no vacuum lines it will not idle... With an MAF hooked up correctly should be fine...
You running a tuned ECU perhaps... Maybe tuned for MAP with no MAF.....?

Sorry if my posts weren't clear; It runs great in safe mode with the MAF unplugged. Once I plug it in, it bogs out and dies without applying throttle.
