I got a 1992 Nissan 240SX with stock KA. Bought it from someone not too long ago and had been having endless amounts of problems.

Anyways, I have fixed the timing problem. The car starts up and idles, but when I press gas pedal, it drops RPM and could die if I hold it for longer than a second or two.

anyone knows what causes this shenanigans? I heard of fuel pumps, injectors, fuel filters being the issue. The injectors have been replaced and so was the fuel filter, and the fuel pump has been working (unless it isn't now)

but if someone could point me in the right direction, that be appreciated.

This is mine, rightnow, doing the same thing!! It's pissing me off!

yup same thing! but mine doesn't even climb in rpm it drops it. I switched Fuel Pump today and same thing...thinking it could be something with the timing, will check tomorrow again. Don't have much time, really busy as is and trying to mess with this on the side. haha.

anyone had this problem before and fixed it, let us know. :)

I am also thinking it is timing related :banghead::banghead::banghead:

If the car dies when the gas pedal is pressed; this sounds to me like it's getting fuel but no air. Check all of your vacuum lines and your IACV.

If it was timing that bad it definitely would not even run. Timing is very picky. You either have it or you don't. Check your TPS since its throttle related and then maybe maf. Does it make a difference if your motor is hot or cold?

When mines warm it.runs a good bit better. Also, if I run it without the maf it has no fuel cut and it revs as it should

It could be the throttle position sensor (TPS) is bad or a bad connection.

It gets air, the throttle opens when you press the pedal.

I'd at least check the spec on the TPS and MAFS, and if those check out, check that you got the timing physically correct when you put it all together.
