ok so i put in the new disc today it was broken in on a ka24det babied for 500 miles. i work with the guy. i was gonna put the pressure plate in but the mount holes were a little off so i reused my spec pressure plate for the ca that came with the motor. when i bought it it had the same clutch in it. upon driving it tonight it is slipping worse than it was before. do i need to break this clutch in to my pressure plate/flywheel or is something else up? i have a ca18det rwd.

Clutch disc should always have at least 300 miles of break in. Also if you got your grimy hands on the disc that could be a factor.
But if your pressure plate is all warped and scuffed you should buy a new plate for sure. Pressure plates can be mixed and matched but only if it's relatively new. If the pressure plate is beat up that could be causing it.
Also why didn't the new plate line up?

that being said would whatever that got on the disc eventually burn off?

I honestly don't know. I have very limited clutch experience, but from what I was told you never put your hands on the disc. Clean fresh gloves every time you touch it.

Did you re-surface the flywheel?
