So here we go again...

I have a stock rebuilt redtop with 1300 miles on it. I tried replacing the maf and it got a little better. When I first start the car it sits at 14.5. If I let the car sit for a while it will start to go rich gradually down to 10. I will hesitate slightly and then pull fine but not to full potential. Under load it will go straight to 10-11.5. If I cruise at highway speeds it will sit at 13ish and sometimes go to 14 where it should be. I have recently checked my injectors and determined they were ok. I guess I'm just asking what can cause a rich condition.

Summary.
Running rich under load
Somewhat normal at cruise
New Maf
No boost leaks as far as I know. Thanks.

Forgot I have a Walbro 255. I think its a hi-flow but IIRC the stock FPR should be able to keep up with it just fine.

Did you replace it with the same kind of MAF?

Yeah I have a redtop with a 62 ecu and a 52f00 maf.

Hey just thought I would update. I adjusted my TPS with a good voltmeter and it stopped running so rich. Not sure if that's what did it but I'm going to install my fuel gauge too just to be sure.

Also man i feel it's normal to run rich under part throttle boost(ptb), engine is not really designed to be ran in ptb all the time and your not hurting ur fuel mileage much if its staying above 11.0. Also running it a little lean in cruise would improve economy more than trying to get ur ptb range perfect.

Yeah Idle is like 14.5-15.5 sometimes it will lean out to 16.7 for no reason. I figure its alright since its idle. At a cruise its 14.5 and then under heavy boost its like 12 and riches out to like 11.5. So I think I'm in the clear. I just put in a new 300zx filter so that should help the situation. Also pulled my power switch so the ECU would reset. Not sure if it actually does anything but it felt smoother.
