What's up guys, just looking for a bit of advice.
I have an 85 s12 that I swapped a ka into. Eventually boosted it on stock internals and had fun...put down 309whp on an ebay 50 trim.

Finally, the inevitable happened...I developed a pretty bad knock.

Now, I'm getting greedy and want a little more power.

I sent my block out to a machine shop yesterday to clean her up and check and make sure everything is alright.
I'm going with eagle h beam rods and cp pistons (waiting to here if I need to bore the cyl before I order the pistons, obviously).
Would oem bearings be alright? I don't see a need to go aftermarket.
I've already got arp head studs, prob going to reuse them. Also, I have a cosworth headgasket with 2k miles on it, can I get away with reusing it?

Not sure on the turbo, I live in WV and sheetz just announced they are bringing e85 here:fawkd:, so I guess I'll need to get bigger injectors. I have sti injectors now.

Could I get away with stock internals again, save money and use it for track events lol, or take the extra time and money and build it?

This is my first actual build of a motor so I'm pretty new...esp with throwing e85 into the equation.

What set-up would you all recommend running to get to my goals?
Spool is pretty important to me, I thought about a gt28, but think it may be too small.

Yea, I'm on there, and have like 40 some posts and it still won't let me start a thread so IDK what's up.
Appreciate the thought, though.

Actually the idea of "go to ka-t.org" means to look for info there, not just make a post that will get you flamed. That is also the idea behind the "post a lot before you are allowed to make a thread".

Basically, it means "stop being lazy".

Oh, is that how forums work? Thanks for the advice!
....
The purpose of this thread isn't solely for my gain. I researched the topic and didn't find any sutible answers to MY questions. No one is going to have the same need or accept the same advice. This thread can be beneficial yo anyone looking for the same power goals. Around 350hp, all of the factors I'm asking about are relevant.
If anything this is better; as all of the questions are consolidated Into one thread about the general topic of having a reliable 350hp.
So, quit being lazy and help a brotha out.

There are two stickies on KA-T that talk about exactly what you can get away with and when you should start using forged internals. 350 is right about the limit for the stock stuff. And since you got greedy once, it'll happen again. Go forged you won't regret it.

Lastly you never told us the whole picture, so we can't accurately tell you what to do. What ECU? What kind of tune? What kind of cams? headwork? etc...

The purpose of this thread [...]

Look, i dont care. I was trying to explain how things are nicely, but you dont get it so here is the standard version:

You are maybe the 16868431854971th guy to make that thread. Nobody cares, except you, and the purpose of this thread is only for your lazy ass to get the info you want served on a plate.

You want info ? Get those fingers out of your ass and start searching.

And next time, put your flaming suit on. Your nickname suits you perfectly BTW.

Thanks for the honest answer.
As for ecu, I was running an enthalpy ecu with an safc. I'm going with a haltexh 850 this time around. I'm more than likely staying with stock cams and doing a mild port/Polish of the head. Nothing too major in regards to headwork. I just want an efficient 350whp.
Look, i dont about anything other than bagels and girls with armpit hair. I'm going to stop posting in this fine young gentleman's thread since I have nothing to contribute.
Your name is quite awesome, BTW.
Thanks man, I appreciate it!!!!

I'll just leave this here so this thread has one of the two quotes Rich260z was talking about. Not sure if you could find it or not.

OP: You are kind of a douche aren't you.

I think that ebay turbo isn't gonna hold that power much longer anyway, but in keeping with the theme of your car, cheap out at all possibly corners.

I only return the favor...not my fault people can't handle what they dish out.
And thanks for the input, I forgot how haltech, garret, aeromotive and hks were cheap parts. But thanks again.
