I just replaced my guides in my 93 ka got everthing back together and now I have a crank no start im getting fuel and spark. But I did notice a conector in the back of the motor is broke its brown with a brown wire and dark grey. What is this conector? could it be my problem? Its in the back top near the valve cover theres hard lines coming off where the conecter plugs in

If its in the nest of vac lines behind the head it is part of your butterfly valves, doubtful it will keep the car from starting. I bet you have your distributor timing off after you put it back in.

Whats the pressure in your fuel lines reading?

how about a picture of the broken connector, surely doubt this is the problem with not starting. Is this the connector that goes to the tranny you speak of?

It is the butterfly sensor. Could this cause a no start? Don't know what fuel pressure is and it doesn't matter the pump was good before the guides so it should be good now

Of you have adequate fuel and spark with no start there are only 2 things that could be wrong. Either compression but even with that being low it would still star but run like shit, or timing. Seeing how you messed with the entire timing system I can almost guarantee your timing is off. Did you take any pics during the process? If so post them up so we can assist furthur

Hook vacuum directly to swirl control valve and see if it runs. Use eithe a vac pump or find a vac. Source to hook too. Apply vacuum if it starts there's ur problem. All u need is spark (timing), fuel, and air to start a fire (start). It's gotta be one of those three. And yes the brown connector is ur butterfly's (swirl control valve)
