This is going Viral...Forged Performance very well known shop in the south. Only reason I'm posting this is because apparently it made it to reddit and probably only moments away from getting on Jalopnik

Forged Performance: The Truth ! - Vendor Reviews - GT-R Life (http://www.gtrlife.com/forums/topic/85083-forged-performance-the-truth/)

Here are the cliff notes for anyone who doesn’t want to read the entire detailed experience”

• 22 month project
• Over $250,000 spent at Forged Performance
• Countless lies and broken promises
• 300 whp below goal
• Engine failure before delivery
• Transmission failure shortly after delivery
• 2nd Engine failure upon teardown
• Hacked up turbo kit
• Overcharged for the performed work
• Horrible craftsmanship
• Shoddy work
• FP refused to compensate for the troubles or refund

sucks for that guy... $250k is a UGR lambo. AMS and Switzer packages are even less...

i see the owner of Forged once a month, at one of the early morning caffeine and octane meets.

he personally drives a 2013 GTR, that's FAST as FUK. i've never see a car pick up so much speed down the street.

I have personally had work done at Forged I drove 18hrs to have work done and all but this shit is UNREAL Personally I would park my car outside there place and protest them and there shop till I got a FULL refound. Then protest to have them shut down. All I will say is pictures speek for themselves. I have people anymore they are all about in/out in/out. What happened to taking your time and some pride in your work. Fucking assholes I hope you get shut down. Oh ya you can tell hes lying too with the post he put up too.

If I spent 250K with a shop or company over the course of 2 years, whether it be on one car or multiple cars, and I'm missing another 30,000 in old parts. Someone is getting sued and I'm going after there entire business.

That thread would be plastered on every major modified car forum, id even try to get that shit posted on the news. A quarter mil is not a laughing matter. Not only is he out 250K, he has to pay a additional 50K+ to get the car where it should have been 2 years ago.

What I don't get... is why the fuck it is so difficult for FP to "bolt" stuff on? I read that other story, the GTM kit on the G37..

How is it so fucking difficult to put a Kit on a car, that so much shit went wrong.
Are there workers blind folded? are they Monkeys?

I mean I have seen better work from a one armed man with no fingers.....

If it was my shop, and I was the owner, I would personally inspect each and every car before they are given back to their owners. it shouldn't take more than 30-45 minutes to inspect everything if you move diligently.

That shop disgusts me, I could do better work out of my garage with hand tools and a car jack.

I mean I can see modification being needed on the JUN kit yes. But to put washers on bolts in order for things to clear, using $3 worm clamps in couplers that are even put on crooked, and then fucking up his entire drive train. I can weld better than that in my garage with my tiny little Lincoln welder.

The worm clamps is what gets me. He's spending more money at your shop than people make in a year and your using autozone clamps.

I'm almost certain any high end Japanese manufacturer at least sends you T bolt clamps or V Bands especially something like JUN. I know my inter cooler kit, along with a few other parts I had came with T bolts out the box. That just disturbs me. Then to charge the guy 10 man hours to modify his kit and all you did was throw on washers to space it out?

no you are forgetting some stuff, the 10 hours are "justifyable" in Forge's eye's because there was some hammering of the exhaust required, a spacer in the exhaust put in, Hammering the downpipe, Oh grinding away the dudes steering column.. that's safe.

And It looks like the fuel "upgrade" was welding on bigger bungs at the end of the rail and nothing else. And it's a sad state in a shop's life when you can Honestly say Chinese ebay parts have better welds than that shit.

If you read the G37 build by forge, it's just as bad.

If it was my car, and the shop Chopped up my front bumper, and didn't even put in a tranny cooler, that is grounds for a lawsuit by itself. I'm sure that Front bumper is expensive as hell.

I read all pages on both hack-job builds, and all I can say is Forge needs to be permanently shut down, or moved to China.

Allegedly the guy is a pro footballer. There are a few of them that drop off cars at shops like this for months. Also wouldn't expect him to have the time or will to build it himself.

Wow those pics are hard to look at.

If you ever watch any of the videos out there made at Nissan about the incredible engineering and meticulous assembly that car goes through those pics are enough to make your skin crawl. Such a shame to destroy an amazing car that only a select number of Nissan employees are even allows to build or work on. And these fucking hacks get a hold of it. Ouch.

Why wouldn't you just ship your car to hks or ams? At those prices, whats an extra 10-15k to have it done right.

I have a feeling he wouldn't win in court. There is no standard for how a shop should perform the work. Whatever invoice or contract he signed for the work is only there to protect the shop from instances such as these.

more cash than sense.

for example,
My buddy had his F355 rebuilt with a twin turbo system, exhaust, etc. and he had a signed agreement with the shop detailing how everything would be performed and that anything that required custom fabrication would be ok'd through the shop manager and himself.

From my understanding, all the technicians that basically made Forged a powerhouse years ago have BEEN gone.

There's always been shady stories about Sharif (I should trademark that phrase) about how he was banging his mechanic's girlfriends after he fired them, has dealerships do the servicing work/alignments because he can't get the GT-R specific equipment since he's not certified, etc.

Dude's a greedy, ego driven dirtbag. Goodfuckingriddance.

Back on topic of the GTR, the shop owner trying to make it sound like its alright they fucked up the GTR because he did not spend 250k on that alone. Somebody else has been paying attention since the G37 sedan hackjob...

I've got several friends that quit going to his shop once he kept charging the same exorbitant labor costs when all his good techs left. The problem with Sharif (from my experience) is that his first impression does one of two things. Rubs people the wrong way, or convinces them to give him their money. A very good friend of mine did business with him on a regular basis (where Sharif was the customer) and even he admitted that he didn't like dealing with him. For the record, I don't normally get vocal on topics like this unless I know for a fact how the person is.

I'm friends with past employees from there, past customers, etc. It tells a story without speaking words when previous employees clam up when the topic is broached and past customers say they'll never go back. Atlanta is a hot spot for performance shops...there are no shortages, so it can be quite cutthroat, which explains why Sharif has habitually taken jabs at his rivals (at dyno days, track days, etc) and his claims have come back to bite him several times. I'm not saying that everyone but Forged is perfect, but I will say that I've been around a lot of those guys in Atlanta and I can tell you who has a better attitude towards the community as a whole, and it's not Sharif.

I think I'm going to puke. Reading both of those accounts makes me sick to my stomach. Whatever happened to pride in your work? I know I'm only 20. But if I work on something, say repair a guitar or fix someone's car. I'm going to do everything I can to make it perfect. If it happens that I can't do what needs to be done. Then I'm going to tell the person I can't do it. It is as simple as that. No matter what amount of money you have a chance of making. If you can't do it right, then don't do it from the start.

Excuse me. I'm going to go puke and hack up a lung.

He could have easily bough an earlys 2000's F1 car!

Um, yeah F1 cars are cool, but you gonna drive that bitch to the grocery store or to dinner?

You can buy a lotta things for $250k but an F1 car is not a replacement for a GTR. That's like saying "Dude should have bought a plane" or "200 ATV's". lol

For 250K he could have bought a used Gallardo and swap in a Heffner TT kit...but that's beside the point.

Anyways, just read the whole thread. Looks like the guy is going to get a refund and his old parts, assuming everything works out by the proposed deadline.

If u are willing to spend 250k to build a car for track proposes why not buy an F1 or an indy 500 for the ultimate experience? Guess the guy had a second car to drive at the grocery store:p

Shame. There are still reputable shops around in the US that do high end/premium work. Sad the owner got screwed over like this.
