Okay, so I've had my sr for about 10k miles without issue, and now i'm having a weird issue I think might be PCV related or rings related.
So far this has happened twice on me, both within the last two weeks.
When i'm going down hill, first time was off the gas but in gear, second time with on the gas around 4k rpms, I noticed when i looked behind me It was pooring blue smoke from the exhaust, but as soon as i leveled out it went away. I originally thought it was because it was overfull, but now it's a little under full, and it just did it again today(For the second time).
Again, other issue i noticed is when this happens I popped my hood and the dip stick is popped up and leaked some oil out of it.
It has only happened twice, but it bothers me none the less, and i'm curious as to what anyone things it is?
SPECS:
S13 redtop Sr20 bone stock never opened
Greddy intake manifold
ISIS exhaust manifold
S14 T28 Turbo Charger(very little to no play at all)
3" Megan turbo elbow and downpipe to stock exhaust
Midmount intercooler setup
Stock otherwise.
I changed the plugs almost directly after it happened the first time and I just replaced all the exhaust side gaskets(blew the 4bolt)
Any ideas?

I pulled the pcv and it was new. Would this happen because the sr has no catch can?

Just cuz your dipstick popped off, Blow by...time to do a compression check!!!

And leak down.

Do you still have the hose installed that goes from the valve cover to turbo inlet?

Yes i do?
I did a comp and leak down test and it all tested out good, so i replaced the o ring on the dip stick and it hasn't happened again. :o

Okay, so having somewhat of the same issue.
The Dip Stick hasn't popped out sense I changed the o-ring, so that is good, but I'm still getting blue smoke pooring from my exhaust going down hills for long periods of time, and living in PA i can't help but go up and down hills. >_>;
So i thought it might have been because I have my valve cover T going from the T to the intake like it's suppose to but without a catch can. So till my catch can comes in i went to advance, blocked up the hole on the intake, and put a filter on the T on the valve cover.
And drove it.
And it still does it.
My question is, I hear sometimes you have to put a restrictor on turbos, I have an S14 T28 with ISIS stainless lines, how would i know if i need that restrictor, and could that be causing this? Or is my turbo just shot?

Pull off ur hot pipe on the turbo?
any oil residue in there?
Popped dipstick means pressure is getting into the crankcase with nowhere to go.
So check ur pcv is operating normally and make sure u have a catch can hooked up and with the proper suction.

PCV is fine, the o ring on the dip stick was bad, the dip stick just wasn't staying in.
PCV valve is brand new.
there isn't any oil residue in the hot pipe, i had it off last weekend and it was clean as a whistle.
only thing that is going on now is it blows smoke going down hills only.

This is in gear on decel right?
Something is drawing oil into the engine and burning it. Can you take a clear picture of the head from the drivers side please.
make sure its enough that we can see the intake manifold too
Thanks

Here, and it has done it both in gear and out.

sounds like a ripped valve stem seal. Or valve stem seal related.
Ive had the same problem for almost 10k miles. Doesn't affect compression at all or performance just smokes kinda bad after deceel or idle.

No, i was an idiot i suppose, the drain on the turbo somehow sprung a leak but it was only leaking going down hill and only hit my exhaust, so under my car was still completely dry so i didn't notice it. It had a tiny pinhole in the hose, i replaced it and It hasn't happened sense! Thank god
