I am removing my intake manifold tomorrow... (redtop sr20) never done this before so we'll see how this goes, one of those piece of shit coolant hoses underneath the intake is leaking, a lot, trying to get it done by saturday night so i can drive to import alliance but I'm sure ill run into problems that make this take way longer than it should. anyways I was wondering if i can just remove the upper intake or does the lower part have to come off too? would it even be any easier to only remove the upper? and the most trouble im having right now is finding the order in which I need to remove the bolts/nuts of the intake from the head. And also for removing lower from upper if there is a sequence/torque specs, if i can even remove it that way
thanks for any help

no sequence really. and as long as the lower manifold support is there, the bottom section of the intake should stay right where it's at. btw, it can be a little bit of a pita to get it off sometime. if you're concerned, just grab a FSM for the s14 sr

theres no sequence for removing and installing the intake manifold from the head? everything ive read says there is, they just dont explain it. the s14 fsm has a sequence but i think the s14 sr has 2 extra bolts that the s13 does not

Uhh, I mean I''ve always done the "good n' tight" method for the bolts..if you want a sequence, I guess clockwise from the center couldn't hurt

I'm not 100% on torque but to take off work from the outside and move inward. Basically loose outer most bolt on front of engine then loosen outer most at rear then start alternating from front to back moving inward. Reverse process to install.

It is a Pita to remove, I had to do it twice in the last week to change hoses, i recommend pulling the bottom first then top than bottom (sequence) to get it off. I had the same issue with a hose under the Intake manifold, it broke a couple weeks ago and coolant was pouring out, it ended up being this 54241
