I've always been obsessed with ITBs and recently I was fortunate enough to pick up a 240 shell which I am in the process of swapping an LS1 into.

I did a lot of reading about ITBs for LSX engines and have seen offerings from Harrop, Kinsler, Jenvey, etc. The problem is these are all very expensive.

So recently I came across a new kit being offered by OBX. I know I know, OBX is pretty shady and their quality may not be the best. But for $1300 I feel like I could buy the kit, get the trumpets balanced, and overall get the whole kit blueprinted and ready to go for less than the three brands I listed earlier.

Does anyone have any experience with these? I would have to switch the LS1 over to speed density since there would be no MAF. How hard is that to do? Also I was planning on tuning the car with HP Tuners, would that be a viable option for tuning ITBs? How about a linkage?

Thread about them on norotors.com:

So, not only did you buy a product you know nothing about nor how to set it up, you also bought knock off shit just like all the other cheap asses out there. You can't polish a turd. There is a reason those three companies products are costly, there is R&D into them, and are a proven quality part.

Your best bet is to go over to the LS1 forums and ask about the junk over there.

^Haha, dunno why that guy was so madbro

Also, I have access to CFD analysis and machining equipment which would make optimizing the linkage system, trumpets, flow through the runners, etc easier. I was just wondering if anyone had experience with this kit and/or could answer the questions in my first post.

I know obx makes some for a 1uz and they need a shit ton of machining and filing just to get the manifold part to fit.. cuz they don't fit out of the box. Id spend a lil extra money and get the name brand shut with all the r-n-r done ready to go out of the box.... Obx is garbage.

It all depends on what your time is worth. If you don't mind dicking around with CFD and machining then by all means, go for it.

That's my b, missed that part... Not mad, nor do I like dick but that seems to be what's on your mind. :goyou:

Either way, my point still stands, you can't polish a turd. Purchase the real thing, not the knock off garbage. You'd still be better off asking this question on the LSX forums, where I'm sure members have used this or attempted the same thing.
