Problem is I had bought the motor w/ everything including the ecu fully built top to bottom. The only thing I changed was the turbo manifold to fit a specific way I wanted it to. Anyways the problem is I had an electrical problem which blew my old standalone (Fried the rom) and im pretty sure the old previous tune cant be pulled off it as a shop said it cant be done. Is there any way to properly tune my car if I dont know 100% whats inside? all I know is that its got hks cams... 550-555 injectors (yellow), forged internals... etc stuff like that. Bought it off a friend a while back who bought it off someone else and doesnt have anyway of contacting that person as its been a long time and lost the number and what not. So im having a little dilema as to what I should do to tune the motor w/ my new PFC as its going to have to be done with scratch... Guess what im asking is what do you guys think I should do as far as tuning goes to be safe and make a good amount of power w/o knowing whats in it 100%. I live in the bay area if that helps for any reason.

you'll be fine... They'll tune your timing / afrs (and more) regardless of whats done

but how can they tell the threshold of everything without knowing whats inside? like the strength of this and how much it can be pushed or something.

They'll still go with what they know...your limits will be your injectors, turbo and MAF (if running stock). Built internals will only help keep the engine last and handle more hiccups but a shitty tune will still kill it. What you need to do is find a reliable/dependable tuner up in the bay. Its been a while so I dont know which shops are left up there. Blacktrax still around?

Ask in the regional section and see which shops people are going to for tuning up there. Like I said, its been awhile since I left the bay area (2007).
