tensioner condition?

Motor is ka24de dual cam.

I pulled my tensioner and it looks like this:
I'm wondering if it is normal or not, since the tensioner is supposed to be up against the chain?

That's pretty normal for that one, it's the long one on the other side that you need to be worried about. The plastic gets stupid brittle and one day it just spontaneously disintegrates down into your oil pan...
