Anyone Here Rocking A Stock Stereo?

I thinking of going back to stock, want to know your opinions.

Im not a fan of flashy lights etc. + Id love my car to have that 90's feel.

i just blew mine... s14 stock radio am/fm cd..... i jumped my car with positive to the negative and neg to pos.... blew the fuse on my stereo and cluster clock... i liked the oem minus the lac of aux...

i've got a stock s13 tape deck. it took me a loooooooong time to find one.
it worked for quite a while, then the numbers for what station youre on stopped working, and then the tape deck stopped working, now only the am/fm radio works.

Only broke asses had tape-decks in the 90's. That shit was so 80's. Cool kids had MD Decks.

Yes I have one. Its two stereos that connect. One tape and a cd slave.

The cassette-to-aux adapters give terrible audio quality, just so you know. Like worse than mono.

That probably won't work because of radio signal, I think japan used different radio signal right? i dunno

Look at later model nissan stereos, if the wiring is different, shouldn't be hard to match up. Figure you could still put an amp on the speaker out lines, and upgraded speakers to get better sound.

Retarded. Stripped but run a heavy ass sub? Why not run full interior then? It's only a few more pounds on top

Different people have different priorities and reasons for doing things that make sense to them.
Pretty sure most people would not agree with half of the things I do to my car, and I do not care to justify them to anyone.

I have the stock s14 CD player still in my s14, I have mb quart components in all corners with dynamat in both qps,trunk,doors,under the rear seat and under the whole carpet. The total added weight of the dynamat was around 28lbs. Still gonna take the roof liner and line the roof as well. The weight doesn't bother me at all since its a dd.

Sorry for being off-topic. I'm looking for a good stereo and can't make my mind up which one is the best.

There are so many aftermarket stereos that it's hard to find a good one. Many of them have one digit difference in their name. Anyways I've been reading reviews on the nets and they are all hype. Most of them downplay the negatives and hype features like 7" as if it would be that important. I've found a different blog and I've set my heart on the alpine halo9. The thing I liked about this blog is that it says it how it is. No sugar coating no BS. This page (https://greatestspeakers.com/alpine-halo9-ilx-f309-review/) is a bit critical. It has highlighted some flaws that put me on the fence. What do you say?
