Ok so I have a 95 s14. last night on my way to work I stop at a red light and when i take off the car sounds like a wrx. Gas was crazy low so i went an put a few bucks n. Car still ran the same. So I'm wondering if this caused my injectors to clog. Anyway I go to leave work and the car starts fine. Sputtered for a sec then it was all.good. wot was smooth as can be. Got about 5min from home(work 30min away) and the sputtering slowely comes back. So I get home and leave the car alone till I wake back up(I work over night). Get up start the car and its fine. I stop and fill the tamk all the way up on 93 like always(yes even on a bone stock ka) and the car is still pretty good again. Then as it comes back I go home, check plugs and the miss seem to come from every cylinder. if i unplugged any injector it would get worse and same for pulling plug wires. Iv never done a real.tune up on the car so i did fuel filter, disty cap, rotor and some injector cleaner. Now the car starts faster amd idles ok but still misses at other times. Anything more then 1/4 throttle and it sputters and bogs like crazy. What else woild be a possible fix? Tps or maybe disty?

I was wondering about the coolant temp sensor. I always figured it would run ok when cold and act up when warmed up or vise versa. Not just act shitty all together. Its worth a shot i guess. If not ill just take it back. I know my car has over heated a few times in the past but recently its been running perfect. I know changed the cts is recommended if the car over heats but since mine never gave me any problems i left it alone.

Can't believe almost 100 views and no one has any idea what it could be. Don't really have time to deal with this car an I'm not trying to buy another disty an it not be it. gonna see if I can barrow one from a friend. BTW car isn't starting at all now. Sprayed some carb cleaner to clean up the iac without removing it and the car hasn't started since.

Yea try coolant temp sensor. They are cheap. If it doesnt help u can always take it back to the auto store if it doesnt fix the prob

Put new plugs n gapped to .39 and she fired up. White smoke everywhere too. Drove around the block and it doesn't miss once. Turned it off and started it back up fine. Last time it made it 30min to work and then started actin up and same thing on the way home. About 30min n it started missin. So I still wont know if the problem is gone till I drive it a lil more. Oh an autozone gave me the wrong cts. smh.

have you checked your injectors?

Since its intermittent , its probably electrical...
It really does sound like a loos injector connector..
Perform a wiggle test....
Start wiggling on some of the connectors that could cause something like that and see if it disappears.

I thought I may have a leaking injector also so i went and unbolted the fuel rail with the injectors and everything all hooked up still. Turned the key to the on position and waited to see if any leaked. Nothin happened. So I assumed they were not the problem. Is there a better way to test to see if they are leaking? And I unplugged each injector while the car was running and each time the miss got worse for every cylinder. And the connectors snap right n and feel tight.

White smoke is from water. It sounds like you are getting water into the cylinder chambers. How much white smoke are we talking?

A lot but that was only after i got it started after all the carb cleaner was sprayed. I drove it around town yesterday but none of the trips were longer then 10 min. Then drove it this morning and back home then now to the gym and back. But gym is only 4min away. So idk if its fixed but yea no white smoke now. And no white smoke before the carb cleaner.
I really think the prob is still there but i just havent driven it for a long enough time.

Update. Today I had to drive to work and it turned out to be a 50min trip. Car never started missin. On the way home a few diff times I felt the car buck but it was for less then a second. I guess you could say it was a miss but it was very faint. All i did besides spraying carb cleaner n the iac tube by the tb was raise the idle. Gonna spray it again this weekend. I'm really shocked the car ran that well. Anyone think the iac could be the problem? I mean it sounds like it was but the symptoms didn't say iacv... I'm stumped.
