any input on this... my cp pistons i got for my sr have a .005" clearance piston to cylinder wall(stated by my machine shop/engine builder).. the spec sheets that came said the clearance should be .003"?..
what affects would this have?
is that clearance too much?
i want a moderate amount of power, 350whp more or less. its going to be a little while before i get it there(dailydrift for now)
eventually a gt2871r and some 256 or 264 lift cams along with injectors/maf & tune.

my setup: as of now.
manley rods
cp pistons 9:1
bc springs retainers and valves
apexi 1.1mm hg
stock turbo t25
cx fmic

thanks

IMO it's totally fine, especially on a turbo car. It *may* make a little rattle on super cold startups, but that's about it. Once the piston warms up it will be ok.

If you're really concerned you can always have Swain apply the thicker coating to the skirts to take up some of the room.
