Hi, I was looking at this turbo and was wondering if it would work well on basically a stock sr?

I know the specs are basically identical to the oe s13 redtop sr turbo. I think I should have worded my question a little differently, like has anyone ran this turbo, and if so how was it? I only want to buy this because its at a price I can afford right now and would rather not go with my other alternative of the isis t28. I just wanted some input on this so I can have a turbo until I can get something better.

If your on a budget, I'd be more inclined to go with the ISIS and enjoy the warranty.

Yea, I went and looked at the turbo and it was cracked... I'll just get the isis t28 and feel better knowing I got a new turbo.

Why don't you get a Garrett T3/T4 are you stuck on getting a T28 series turbo? The .48 AR turbine 50 trim compressor spools up like a gt2871R and has a max HP of about 400 WHP on SR...I can source them for about 600 shipped. I am sure you can find else-ware for around the same as well. Great low budget turbo and won't crack or break.

you can get a godspeed 2871 for $300 shipped. call them up. it also comes with a one year warranty.

it'll last you a good bit.

Do they just copy the same exact specs as a Garrett? I wouldn't trust that turbo at all especially if they claim it's BB center section...

Just go with a Garret 50 trim TO4B compressor with a 0.48 AR Turbine Housing and Stage 3 Turbine wheel...these literally spool up faster than a GT2871R especially if you're still running the stock intake manifold and you can get 400 whp out of these setups easily...

Big thing is that I have about 1500 budget for engine rebuild, I already have forged internals, machine work is being done, and only will need a turbo and few other odds and ends. I just want to stay with the t2 flange.
