Since we all love cars, I figure I share my latest project my 95 240sx with a 1JZ.. so lets start from the beginning shall we?

Here is how the car looked when I first got it

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8555/8701261971_ab6e56857a_b.jpg

A little rough on the outside, but the interior was flawless, that's all I really cared about

Car was already turbo and it had a bunch of great parts, AEM V2, Precision 6262, custom long tube manifold etc, engine had a lose timing belt chain and needed a tune so off she went to the shop

After debating what to do (fix current motor or build a new one) I decided to go ahead and build a new KA24DE, wanted to see what I could do w/it so off the car and to the machine shop

Full rebuild .20 CP pistons / Eagle Rods / 264 Cams the works..

While the engine was out I figured it would be a good time to paint the car

Very happy with the final product, electron blue

Also got new wheels in the process and coilovers

After breaking in was completed, off to the dyno she went

440rwhp @ 21PSI on 93 octane

Car was a blast on the street

So after enjoying the car for a few months, a friend of mine decided that he wanted my KA-t so I traded him for his 1JZ.

Removing the motor

And is out

Last time I didn't get a chance to paint the engine bay, so I figured since is out again lets paint it to match the rest of the car

Much better! Time to tear into the 1JZ, stripped down to check bearings / rings and paint

Looking good, time to put the head / new headgasket on

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8419/8701197581_437a249409_b.jpg

Also I wanted a little extra BLING with this second build so I send out all the parts to be polished

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8275/8701178495_2b9a6abc24_b.jpg

At this point I was debating if I should build my R154 or buy one already done, after some searching I found this awesome R154 in the forums so I bought it

All new Marlin Crawler parts and looking fresh.. Time to assemble the engine

Half way there

New engine / transmission brakets

Motor semi-finish

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8534/8702328860_c4b3d5f0f3_b.jpg

Time to go in the car for a test fit

Like a GLOVE!

Still lots left to do Wiring / clutch / new brake lines etc hopefully 2 more weeks before she is on the road again, I will update the thread with more pics as I get them.

LOL, your title is deceiving. I might not of known this was a 1j build, I usually don't care for ka-t builds(having done one). Looks great dude, keep going!

I know, maybe a mod can help me change the title? :smash:

Very nice car, it kinda looks like this 17 years olds car with a LS1. Very nide build.

Nice work. That thing had to have been a handful with that ka-t and the super stock looking suspension and wheels/tires it had when you got it. Definitely a clean base though.

Update..

Finished putting the motor together with all of the accessories / belts

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8128/8752932981_e73fbd8b54_b.jpg

Welding the heater outlets

http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3714/8754058052_96b131119d_b.jpg

Is all about the details.. I hated the way the stock lines just ran through the front of the firewall so we hide them and ran braided lines instead

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7366/8754058254_ebf142dc03_b.jpg

Ran new fuel lines on the correct side.. -8 for feed -6 for return

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7389/8752933215_b323509f87_b.jpg

My friend is excited, almost done to get her started!
