Ok so new to the forums but have been searching for a while on google
I'm having a problem with my mafs I assume but not positive.
I recently had to change the oil pump last month because I cracked my thermostat housing. So with that changed I had messed up my timing due to false info which is right for the s14. So a lot of flooding occured. I flushed my oil because it had a lot of gas. Then set timing to what I thought was right.(later I find a vaccume leak) took it out in a snow storm full of salt too which I washed off after this 100 mile test drive. So next day check engine bay n notice a vaccume line isnt connected.
After connecting line I go for a 10 min drive and car starts bogging like crazy. Get it home and I have codes for knock sensor 34 and mafs 12.
And now it seems like my car is in limp mode.
If started it will rev past 2400 on the first throttle blip but won't go over 3000. Then I see a constant 2400rpm limiter
Also it idles perfect. But is pretty rich. No black smoke though
I cleaned my maf with maf cdleaner which didn't look like it got anything off my maf..btw it is full of salt build up on the walls.
Do you think brake cleaner is safe to use
Also I don't have a multi meter I'm trying to borrow one. I'm very broke right now n could hardly buy the maf cleaner. Oh also I reset my ecu but my codes come back within a second actually its like they don't leave

Can anyone make any sense of all this

Yea I think it must be.. I have a tube front end that is very open n gets pretty dirty

Does anyone know if brake cleaner is safe.. the maf cleaner product I used didn't work well at all

brake cleaner is ok to use as long as you wait till it`s completely dry before plugging it in. and move your air filter so that it does not get salt spray. lol.
