I know the "mediocre" questions go into that thread for mediocre questions.

this is something I can't really find online ( I have looked ) and will probably be overlooked in that thread.

My wiring harness was cut at one spot, Can someone with an RB20 verify, on their own harness, What connectors go to this spot?

It is pretty easy to recognize, because of it's location.

please! really appreciate it.
please, if you don't own a RB20, of wanna say something like " just buy this harness, or etc etc " just don't bother posting.

Get your self an ohm meter and figure out which wires ohm to the connector on the ECU.

I'm betting that the two brown shielded wires are for the MAF and for the O2 sensor. Which if you want to do right you'll need shielded wire to extend or replace the whole wire from the ECU connector. I believe you are missing several connectors. I'm betting the Red/BLK stripe wire is the positive for the coils. The other wires are more than likely to control the coils or apply power to the O2 sensor and MAF.

I have the Ignitor, both connectors for it, and entire coil harness, if that makes any difference. I was planning to replace the shielded wire with shielded wire all the way

looks like the ones that was cut in mine too

after looking each one with the pin-out, I figured they were all for a/c, auto trans and cruise control related.

can you post all the others connector on your harness?

OrangeVirus1

yeah I can do that, I did see the AC wiring cut, probably some of that is the AC wiring, but I think some of it is also the MAF and 02 sensor wiring, because I have no MAF connector (it seems ) and there was nothing connected to the 02 sensor, but yeah I'll post a pic up.

Did you tape it or did it come like that?

OrangeVirus1
02-05-2013, 12:59 PM
I taped it, because I wanted it to be orange, and get rid of all the old crappy tape and insulation crap.

but now I'm really thinking about just buying the WSP harness, 399$ and it is guaranteed start up.

meh. I'd like to use this one though, save the 400 and repair it.

OrangeVirus1

Update, I'm going to use it, and save the 400$ to use elsewhere. Found out some of the wires go to the MAF *pending info on which* some of the wires go to the 02 Sensor*pending info on which* and some go to the AC compressor/ac stuff * IDGAF about those*

Thanks! that doesn't really help me out so much though, because I need wire color + which wire is WHAT like PIN 37 = MAF input / output or w/e stuff like that

I'm searching searching..searching..

also.. The "great, good, noob friendly" RB20 wiring guides.. are freaking CRAP.. I've seen better wiring guides written by monkeys

Sorry bro What kind of car did you have? S14 , s13? Remember you have to connect the wires inside the car part off the wires belong to the ecu Memory Ignition and check engine light etc plug F4

You said you have a RB20 right? can you please take a pic of your harness, where mine is cut, and show me what connectors run on that harness part?

It's right there near where the Firewall gromet thing is (look in the pics) it would really help me alot man please!

That is weird, why would the RB20DET have a resistor pack, the injectors are High impedance??

I'm going to be Volt-metering these wires to the ecu and figure out what is what.

I do know I am missing, at bare minimum, the MAF and 02 sensor clips

Resistor is not for the injectors, Rb20 runs std high impedance resistors, the resistor he was inquiring about is tied into the skyline's variable voltage fuel pump regulator. You not need

ok so far I have successfully Found the :
Ground for 02 sensor, 02 sensor signal wire

and 3 wires that do not go to any ECU pin at all ??

about 15 more wires to go lol

OK so far I have found ( from those cut wires )
:
airflow signal
Airflow sensor Ground
powersteering switch
Crank angle sensor ground
Crank angle sensor/ECCS relay
Tachometer speed signal
Nuetral switch
02 sensor ground
02 sensor switch
Ignition switch

I have about 6-7 wires that didn't go to any pin on the ECU, BUT I will recheck my wiring and check it again

I can't see the 1st pic at my job :/

2nd : yes, chassis
3rd : on your harness close to the green relays. there's 2 plugs that looks the same. one is for the consult port, the other for the dash plug. you can sort them out with the wire color

I had to cut the male part of that plug off the ka harness to fit under dash

you don't need to remove your dash. but it is not a nice place to work... at least remove the glovebox to make some room. the dash plug is up there in the corner

What are the Two little sensors on the RB20 tranny for? I can't seem to find any PINS that the green wires on the connectors go to. they were also cut. Are they important?

and the KA speed sensor...... how do I wire that up.
