so heres what im thinking, i have an sr right now and may want to upgrade/downgrade (depending on your opinion of the engine) to a rb20, but i wana keep the cost to like an absolute minimum. now i know there are gonna be a couple of things i will have to buy/make/piece together.

right now on my sr i have(that possibly pertain to the swap, gonna try and keep this as short as needed):
front mount intercooler
255 fuel pump
1 piece aluminum driveshaft
intake tube and filter
solid motor and trans mount (pucks?(cylinder'y things idk what u call them) and trans plate full metal-metal contact, no bushing at all)
my elbow/downpipe combo from sr
prob forgetting something

im planning to use a r32 crossmember so i think if the trans plate doesnt line up i'll just drill out hole so it does
and i know the intercooler piping is different but that can be resolved with relative ease
and probe some custom turbo lines

my goal is to keep the sr elbow/dp and use a t2 turbo on it
BEFORE U GO ALL THE SR ELBOW DOESNT FIT THE RB20 TURBO, I KNOW IT DOESNT ive done a butt load of searching and know it will need some kind of modding the turbo position to get the elbow/dp to fit

thats why im asking does anyone know of a bottom mount manifold(like where the turbo flange is parallel to the ground) or somekind of t3-t2 adaptor with a bend in it cuz the rb20 mani is slanted
this has been done, a guy i know did something like this on his rb25 but i didnt see it cuz he put the heat shields on it and didnt give me too many details on what he did other that he got a t28 on a rb25 and used some kinda of adaptor and welding idk not too many details on it

so could it be possible to find an adaptor to rotate the entire turbo so that the 5 bolt flange matches with the sr elbow? if not maybe get one made, just if this is possible without using a rb elbow

any HELPFUL info and opinions are appreciated, i dont wana see another SR>RB KA>SR etc. flamefest...we have enough of it on our local forum

Way more work than its worth. T3 flange manifold and trying to fit a T2 flanged turbo, then you still have the steering shaft issue...definitely more headache than its worth and you wont be saving money in the long run in trying to make it work.

My question is, you already have an SR20, why not just stay with it? If you're gonna go RB, atleast go RB25 vs the 20, not much advantage on the RB20 over the SR20.
