I replaced the head on my Dohc since my timing jumped some teeth and destroyed a valve and the head.

So I have a new head on there. I used valve grinding compound to make nice valve seats for all the valves.

I put it all back together. Bottom end was at TDC (does the bottom end have a "compression stroke" or is it just pistons going up and down?). Top end was (I believe) put on correctly. Cams on piston 1 were facing opposite.

Dizzy is on correctly. Timed it when the cams were facing opposite tdc. Set it to about 9 or 10 o'clock. Spark plug wires are in order. 1 2 4 3 in a clockwise direction.

Getting fuel. The line from the filter is going to the front side of the car and the other line (return) is going to the fuel pressure regulator.

I'm getting 60 psi compression though. But I suppose that is somewhat expected. The valves don't have carbon build up to make a nice seal and the engine is stone cold.

Any idea what the problem may be? I believe I have all 3 components. Spark fuel and compression/timing. Where could I be going wrong?

Double check your marks on the crank. Large can sprocket and cams. I did the same thing you did. Wouldn't start. All have to be on the mark.

the marks on the crank? You mean the pulley marks? I triple checked to make sure they were in line when I aligned the cams. I put the cams in to where they settled in without pressure. Tightened the caps down and turned them a bit to the outside so they were angled more away from each other.

All my plugs are in place. My engine ground is on. I just don't understand whats going on...

Remove the #1 spark plug. Spin over to tdc. I believe the 2nd mark on the crank pully. Put a long screwdriver on the cyl 1 piston and hand spin it till the screwdriver goes all the way up. Double check your cam timing. Post a picture of it at this point on here. Then once we see the timing its at i can tell you if its all right. I just had to do all of this to a ka24de high compression motor. So post that picture up then ill help from there.

Also all of the cam gears and lower gear have to be perfectly on. As deesul said.
