So. I recently picked up an '89 Hatch, S13 Blacktop, with a power fc D-jetro. It ran pretty well, pulled hard, sounded healthy. A couple weeks ago, I put the car out of commission to do a couple things. I pulled the intake manifold off to install an oil block adapter, installed an oil pressure sensor (haven't hooked up the gauge yet) oil filer relocation, oem water pump and new belts. I finally got her all buttoned up tonight. But when I started her, it sounded like hell underneath my valve cover. Almost like something was loose under there? My buddy said it could have something to do with the hyedraulic lifters because I left the car without oil for almost three weeks. I haven't a clue, all I know is; I'm heartbroken. I've been working at night after work, in my driveway, freezing my butt off for weeks really banking on that fairy tale ending where she would just start right back up better than ever. Instead my worst nightmare happened. Any info would really be appreciated.. Thanks guys.

take the VC off and check it out, might have to bleed the lifters.

Just in case anyone ever has this problem again, I had the lines coming from the oil block adapter to my oil filter relocation crossed.

Stupid mistake but you live and you learn. I just hope I didn't do any serious damage to anything in the head. It runs and drives fine, so I think I'm in the clear.

Sorry to hear that man. Florida's full of garbage, but at least it's warm garbage.
