I have a 90 infoniti m30, w/ rb20
I recently replaced the engine due to a rod that shot out of the block..
It was fine before, electrical wise at least. Now that ive put everything back in and together it cranks all day long but has no spark. The only thing that i can tell is different is that there is a wire coming from the firewall that is not connected to anything.. But i cannot find where it may go to, it is a hand run wire that leads back to ecu pin#38 which is the Throttle Opening output and is a hot wire. The schematic says that is goes to the middle(#2) pin on the throttle sensor. Tested it and nothing
But even if that were the case to MY knowledge would not keep it from starting just run like shit.

Also my radio does not work anymore, it was brought up by a shop tech that it may be the factory security system that could have been tripped which will in turn keep the car from starting or sending a signal to the ignitor.
Has this happened to anybody or does it even sound like it could be the reason for the no spark?

Keep in mind i did not do anything woth wiring or electronics while the engine was out of the car, and the car was running fine before the rod at least but had everything that it needed electrically to run.

So ive checked the cas blah blah blah all the normal things in case there is a broken or faulty part

I checked the continuity from the switched ignition wire to the coilpacks, it is fine for the grounds on the 2 outside wires but there is nothing in the middle wire which is supposed to be the hot. Opened up the upper wire harness and could find no faulty wires or anything out of place so now im kind of stumped
I know there must be some wire or something fucked inbetween the coil and ecu. Im still fuckin stumped that the radio doesnt work and i know they are connected

My guess its in the dash somewhere in that wiring mess, its the only place i can think of where a power source could have gone foul to affect the radio and spark. I could really care less if i had tunes, but the first crank after the swap the radio flashed on Then off.

Thanks for all the help fellas....
But seriously though i rea a thread where a guy had the same issue but it was his ecu, but if the ecu was bad would i have been able to check te codes?
I will be opening it up tomorrow to check but if someone has knowledge it would help since im definitely an electrical idiot even though im workin my way through everything.
Million dollar question is what would short or come ungrounded tht would affect the radio and spark? Literally everythig else works

Ok so today i went through every ground i could find, brought mountig point to bare metal and put connecteds on every one that didnt for a more positive connection, nothing.
Still the led on the ecu doesnt come one steady but comes on and goes off once when i crank it

However made some progress by testing my ecu on a friend's rb s13, and it works buuut couldnt check the ignitor because apparently i have a j30 ignitor.
But checked the switched ignition wire, inside the car carried no voltage but the same wire just inside the engine bay had 12v... We jumped the wire from the one in the engine bay that got voltage to the ecu wire, and still no spark, but after cleaning up the grounds and jumping the wire the coils got 1.1v, still not enough but a lil better.
I also went through some of the easier accessable wires in the dash cleaned all the grounds and fixed botched connections (just twisted and taped)

What boggles me about the radio (which again i dont are about but just a biprosict of whys wrong) is that i checked the battery power an ignition power and both are good, the ground is good cause i just re did it
The ecu is from an auto, but had no issue before.
But that one wire pin #38 the throttle opening output is still unconnected, it puts out a 12v and may be the issue bu i literally cannot find anythig on the net or in the car on where it could go or what it is for..... Please any knowledge would be amazing... More so than jetpacks and dpace ships

Ok i found the problem, my dumbass switched up the o2 sensor plug and power to coil plug
After that i had no issue for spark
However the engine i got i was told was in perfect running order buy apparently needed new piston rings i got 30psi on the dry compression test and 60 when wet
So now i guess im back to step 1, whatever lesson learned and it wont happen again
