View Full Version : Possibly buying an 89 coupe with a ka24de swap

So from what I was told, the guy had to replace the oil pump, and while putting the motor back together, forgot to "pay attention" to the timing. He says it jerks around 2k rpms. Just curious as to anyone that has experienced this and if its more likely distributor timing vs chain timing or something else. Thanks in advance

It is more likely that how the fuck should we know??? He could have chain timing off any number of teeth, or have the distributor stabbed incorrectly. How could strangers on the Internet have any possible way to guess what this dumbass was doing???
If this dude wasnt paying attention to what he was doing, I hope you aren't paying much for the car.

I would redo timing completely. Also you're making yourself look like a fool.
