What is this turbo cable thing and where can I get a new one

It connects to the top of my turbo, and its starting to wear out so I need a new one. What does it do and where can I find a new one?

Question. If you don't know what it is or what it does then how do you know it's bad? That is the o2 sensor and it is not connected to the top of the turbo, that is the turbo outlet housing.

I have a couple o2 sensors....

can a bad 02 sensor cause a car to not crank?

Ok, do skinny 02 sensors work with blacktop sr20dets?

Sensor should be matched up by ecu. The fat and skinny ground out differently and give out different signals. One is on a volt scale and one is resistance. Google the difference. Also a faulty o2 sensor will not cause a no crank situation.

Short answer is no. You can theoretically unplug that O2 sensor and the engine will still run. O2 is used to caluclate air/fuel ratio under closed-loop operation, or generally when you are under light engine load conditions, but not under wide open throttle.

Now my turn to ask a question; if you know you are bad at cars, why would you want to mess with a car that has a swapped engine? And before someone else chimes in, spending a few minutes searching either Google or this site for a downloadable service manual for the SR20DET will save you lots of time asking questions and help you be better at cars.

Because I had an opportunity to pick up a decent car and I took advantage of it. I always search google and forums before I ask a question, but I had no idea what this part was even called or where to start so I used this subforum for what its for and asked a question. I haven't looked into a service manual before but if it sounds like I'll have to look into it.
