Gas needel on dash freakin out

yo what do u guys think this is, my gas needle or meter what ever u choose to call it is going crazy i droped 10 bucks in the tank and my needle said it was full, then it dropped to empty,, freakin car is flipin out lmao what can i say just have to show it some good lovin

Bad sending unit, bad cluster, or bad wiring...

Thx Mikester, gonna change the cluster soon so ill just have to wait and see

Saw something on Motor Week the other day about this. Start cheap. On your sending unit on the pump it has silver. Some times it might be the gas that you have gotten in the past making freak out. There is a additive that might fix the problem. I do a little research about it when I get home and post it up if I find it.

Respectfully, OP, you should take your sending unit out & inspect it before putting ANYTHING into your tank. It could be as simple as your float hanging up on something... A visual inspection is free.

I told you the basic things that could be wrong w/it- Not to throw parts at it till the problem goes away.
