Whats up yall. Let me cut to the chase. I ordered a "Discontinued" D-Max SR20DET pulley kit through japanparts.com and this is what they sent. However there are no instructions (which would have the d-max logo) and nor does it say d-max anywhere on the pulley's themselves. So did I just get "had"?

Most likely unless they are a reputable company.

Hard to say. I was unaware that D-Max made pulley kits, but that also looks completely different than any pulley kit I've seen.

It doesnt look like your typical e-bay pulley kit. The usual knock offs have alot more holes on the pulley to make them lighter. Basically copied the Greddy/Thrust pulleys.

Thanks man! This does help. I also emailed D-Max for clarification...still waiting. Thanks for your input

That box behind it looks like a real dmax box. A friend of mine went to dmax while he was in Japan and bought a steering wheel spacer. It came in a box just like that.

The funny thing about this is I believe the knockoffs are actually the exact same product. Japan also outsources to China.
I can't confirm 100% but if it does its job, does it matter where it comes from?

BTW, found an old DMax ad in a 2008 Drift Tengoku mag that had this pulley set listed for 29,800 yen. Looks like its real.

There's not a whole lot of stuff manufactured in Japan, cheaper to outsource it to Taiwan and QC it back in Japan. Most companies will get the same part from the same manufacturer in Taiwan and just have them change the color or add their logo/design on it.
Notice how alot of cheap coilovers coming in all look like Megan Racing with the same 32 way adjustments?
