alright so i took apart my ka24 twin cam 16valve engine to replace the valve stem seals and we successfully replaced the valve seals and we put everything back together (camshafts and the engine in general) at first when we got everything back together it wouldnt crank it would try to turn over but wouldnt crank up all the way... the timing was messed all up so we set the cam shafts to the correct position and the distributor set to the #1 spark plug and had it set on tdc and we got it to crank , it idles now but it has trouble idling and when we push the peddle to give it gas it only revs u to almost 1000rpm, all to gether we replaced the valve stem seals and the top timing chain tensioner, need help to get it started any other timing positions to try? anything? thanks

timing is still off or you messed up something by cranking it with the timing way off.

could've bent a valve or anything really. when you started it and it started to crank and then stopped that tells me that something binded and probably either bent or broke.

nah it didnt stop cranking , it just wouldnt crank all the way up it would try and try but nothing, but we got it to crank now but it just idles weird and when we apply gas it barely gets to about 1000rpm
we think the timing jneeds to be adjusted but just dont know how cuz we have it on tdc and the camshafts are in the right position and everything is line up, we just dont no what to do now :0

check your compression. and go over everything that you touched even if you didn't replace it just look over it and make sure everything is operating properly
