Ok i did my rb25det to ls2 coil pack conversion now i want to relocate the coil packs and need some long wires. Does anyone know where to find those? I searched google zilvia nico etc. not a single mention of long wire sets.

I know there are a number of people who make them out of universal parts. Or hit up magnacore, they will make you wires to your specs. Tell them LS2 coils and the type of spark plug your running, and how wide the hole in the head is going down to the spark plug. Cant remember what the price I got when I called them but it was around the $150 IIRC.

Thanks ill look into that, $150 is a but up there for just a simple wire but i might have to suck it up and buy them.

That was for 8 wires though, I wanted some extras. I am sure some of the other companies will build you wires also.

Well the thing is i i have them sitting on top of the plug galley and i want to run the wires inside and mount it all under the dash. So i need some decent length. Hopefully if the wires are long enough ill use the ac port to run them back or ill drill a hole behind the engine. I would post pix but my picasa is all screwed up right now wont let me embed pics.

It would be interesting to see if running the wires that far would be ok.
With that said Magnecore made mine for the SR and they work great. Sure you can goto Summitt/Jegs, get the DIY Straight boots, and make it work...but be damned getting those boots onto and off of the plugs properly, or without pulling the boot up and off the crimped end. I got so tired of that, and said F it, and just had them build me a set. Sure a bit more money, but you get the long shank plug boots like FWD SR/Honda etc etc, and never have to worry about it pulling apart again.

That is definitely my biggest worry - length. Im hoping 36" would work. Ive seen some 48" wires for sale on ebay but didnt want to chance it. The reason i have not tried tackling a "diy" kit is because of the problems you mentioned. I cant see myself pulling the boots over the connectors without my clumsy ass f-ing it all up. I think it will come down to a dyi kit in the end since magnocore or whatever its called want too much.

Kingsborne Wire Werks Inc - Spark plug wires, Automotive, RV, Motorcycle, Marine, Racing, Industry (http://kingsborne.com/)
not sure if it's too late, but you can go to that website and they have pretty much everything you will need to make your custom length wires. I am running them on my SR.

Definitely not too late. Been working on another project and let the wires be how they are. Luckily the coils have not overheated. Lol. Thanks for the link ill check it out.

Ill try and pull up some pix when i have a moment. Its a simple process and worth the $230 or $240 that it costs. My idle is smooth the car does not bog because of the arcing coils and the infamous mis at idle is gone. Ideally you want to tune after the upgrade or get an ecu which can adjust the dwell but mine is stock and has worked great for half a year.
