Considering doing a 1uz-fe swap and possibly adding in some F/I in order to address the "low" amount of power that the motor makes.

(Ib4 LSx swap. It's no. 2 on the list)

Turbo swaps are semi-difficult to do with v8s because of the available amount of space, so most people bring a "cross over" pipe near the radiator and supply their huge turbo that way.

I understand that v8 would cause a t28 to lose steam too quickly and that's why larger turbos are used. But, my question is: why wouldn't a single t28 on the passenger side, with normal headers on the driverside work?

Does the turbo not "force" enough air in to make a difference? Whats the issue with doing it this way?

not 100% on this but i would think that it would screw with the way the car would run. adding more backpressure basically on just one side of the motor and the other would be open. why not just figure out a way to go twin turbo with your idea? i'm sure there's somewhere that you can run the dp on the passenger side.

I'm guessing the turbo wouldn't spool right since half the boost it's pushing in the engine would exit out the n/a side

it just sounds like a bad idea lol twin turbo v8 sounds easier than one single turbo V8

T28 turbine housing is juuuuusst way tooooo small for for a V8,especially in a single seting...Hell on a healthy SR(4cyl),T28 is just about at its max. will not work well. You would be better off NA full tune, unless your gonna really up the turbo size & have an EMS to match

The turbo would spool up fine. It just wouldn't make much boost due to increased flow of v8. Waste of time and effort. Why not two t28s?

I've got nothing against twin turbo (which would be really hard to fit imo) or a big single. I was just 100% curious why no one runs it this way.

Thinking about it I guess the turbo doesn't flow enough air to actually help a v8 or it would cut the efficiency of t28 in half (because double cylinders).

Big single I guess :)

ya that would be entirely useless

twin T-28's on any 350 cubic inch V8 would be slick. 500bhp pump gas all day of course, 5-8psi. But honestly, leave room for a set of 50 trims, because 700bhp>500bhp
