Hey guys, so im just in the process of ordering my engine mods so i can install my s15 sr20det into my s13 coupe. I wanted to show you guys what i have now and maybe some of you with similar setup can chime in on what else i should run. Im trying to do bare minimum at this point and running on stock t28 im hoping to make decent power for drift.
So ive got an s15 sr

Fun, quick and reliable car depending on who tunes your power FC and who is installing those mods.

Looks like a solid 300 wheel with a good tune.

Really eh thats good to hear i was talking to my tuner he was doubting it saying maybe 250 whp. But he doesnt ever really work on sr20 hes done alot of evo sti s200 350z etc but never really 240. I trust the guy but reading on here it seems with this setup i can hit 300 or close to it. Just want to make sure i have the right set of first mods for runnin the t28 and stock internals

While the motor is out of the car and everything is easy to access I would replace all the vacuum, coolant. and fuel lines. Also, it appears you are running the MAF sensor. Because of that I would recommend you recirculate the bov. You don't want to release metered air to the atmosphere. The Apexi headgasket is high quality. When You put it on notice how tight it fits around the dowel pin. There is no play. Also, inspect the condition of the current clutch so you don't find yourself having to remove it in the near future. Just a few minor things, but what you have and plan to have looks like a solid setup.

I will be running map not maf with the d jetro power fc. As for clutch i have a new one ready to install.
I was planning to recirc the bov or not run one at all. And it will be welded to the cold pipe

you must run some type of BOV, recirc is not necessary for MAP based and can be vented to atmosphere without issue

I made 207 at the wheels on a stock redtop on 7psi from a boost leak and stock tune. You should be well over 250.

Tuning and understanding how to tune is an art. Apexi is like painting vs sculpture it's art but not the same thing. If you guy has no clue what he is talking about don't walk away run. I have seen more tuners blow up motors than jdm fanboys.
If you want to be smart no need for arp or metal head gasket a bone stock all oem bottom end have been pushed for a long time or crazy boost and made 375-425 to the wheels
You need to work on getting plenty of fuel to the motor having good grounds and making sure the oil pump works and make sure to replace the water pump and thermostat are brand new
For drifting I would just throw away the six speed tranny stick with a 5 speed

Well i already did the studs and gasket. And i plan on running
The 5 spd. I wasnt planning on changing watwr pump, but i have installed nismo thermostat
My guy doesnt specialize in sr20 but he has tuned plenty of cars. I myself am not to knowledgable im just trusting him cause hes a friend and seems to know his shit very well. What kind of questions should i maybe be asking him?

You should go ahead and go MAP if your going with the 740's. Seems the more logical thing to do so you dont have to retune foe it in the future.
Dependin on the boost you decide you should see 260-270 on the dyno imo. I saw 245hp and around 245tq on a redtop s13 with t25 spiking around 18-20psi. The t28 you will definitly do better.
