I'm trying to install this
GReddy Oil Cooler Adaptor W/Thermostat 12401123 (http://www.240sxmotoring.com/groilcoadw.html)

but I can't get both fittings coming off the adaptor to clear the engine mount on an S14 SR20. Anybody have any experience or workarounds?
Thanks.

Take the intake manifold off...honestly, you have no space, thats the only way you can get to the fittings.

No, I have the adaptor sandwiched between the block and the filter, as in the photo. I can get the adaptor in there, but there isn't enough room for both fittings with the motor mount right in the way. I already dremeled down one of the mount bolts, which helped, but the 90 degree fitting I have isn't compact enough. I wonder if those available on summit are smaller. I wish I would have gotten the direct bolt style, but I'd like to make this one work.

On my SR, my fittings are pointed more towards the alternator.

The forward fitting can angle toward the alternator, but the aft fitting can't angle forward or it will interfere with the filter.

Why not loosen the plate, and spin it until it fits?

That's the point - there is no position that provides enough room for both fittings. 45 degree fittings seem the best bet, with the adapter fittings angled a bit toward the alternator, kind of at 5 o'clock. I don't know how the attached pic setup could have happened though, with the fittings at 3 o'clock, or directly forward - the fittings seem to go right into the alternator position.??

I've truthfully always seen (including my own) had straight fittings come off the filter relocation deals and then obviously bend to wherever the cooler is located.

Yes, filter relocation adaptors are much easier to install. With this adaptor, the filter spins onto the adaptor, so it cuts down on options. I'm switching to low profile 45 fittings and braided lines. The push-on (cheaper) style fittings took up too much room.
