mine did the same thing. ended up being fix-a-flat in one of the tires.

your tires probably have flat spots. some times they go away after a few miles.

I had the same problem recently, I got new tires mounted and balanced no shakes at all

you guys need to learn how to fix flat spots instead of just buying new ones and wasting money.
how to fix flat spots on your tires lol ( fox body burnout ) - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDAWuI44UIE)

They probably just need balancing. I have tires still on my car after 18,000 miles, and they had sat for 8 years flat before I got the car. Haven't even balanced them, but no vibrations even up to 115+mph

going 115+ on 8+ year old tires... That's smart

Get new tension rods and balljoints. They're more than likely shot.

Also check wheels weight. My s13 did the same thing. It was just a falling wheel weight that made my car shake during high speed :duh:

Just wanted to share my experience i know its an ancient thread.
I have a 98 S14 originally an auto car has 79K original miles.. had 68k when i bought it and the problem was there then too.
I inspected the entire suspension all the ball joints and tie rods seemed great, tension rod bushings were leaking so i replaced them thinking that was it.. It wasnt.
Had tires and wheels balanced, it was a bit better but still not right..
Anyway, my car is in great shape wasnt beat low miles etc.. Didnt think the steering rack bushings were bad, however that ended up being the cause, the rubber is very soft and the DS bushing was starting to come apart.. (couldnt really tell upon installed visual inspection)
I replaced the DS with an energy suspension bushing and the other with a Nismo bushing, very happy with the results.. i suggest replacing them if you have a shake, even if they appear to be ok.
The job took a half hour.. very easy to do

Thanks man, that may have just helped me, as I've balanced my wheels and got alignment and no flat spots, and my wheel still vibrates.
