If your oil gauge turned on, did you inspect that first? You checked the oil level and made sure you got oil? Usually when the oil light turns on and the pressure is indeed low, its too late.

The oil light is not a low oil level sensor, it's low or no oil pressure! If it come's on while driving clutch in, hit the hazards / 4ways and kill the engine, but don't lock the steering wheel and don't try this if you haven't practiced it in a safe area. This is not guarantee that you'll save it, but there's a chance.

OP not for you though, cause you drove with a blown turbo and when the engine died after making the cry for help you said FU bit*h and tried to start it anyway!

When the stock old pressure light turns on when you're cruising in the freeway, just keep driving. You might make it home before the rods punches out the side of the block and make a new drain hole for you.
