After many hours of searching Ive yet to come up with an answer to this question. What Im doing is putting an s14 ka24de OBDI engine into an 89 S13 coupe. Im going to be changing out the tps, exhaust manifold, and various other sensors to coincide with an S13 DOHC engine harness and ECU. Im trying to keep from throwing codes since I have to smog this thing.

My 95 engine came without one of these beauties. SCV(left) and *EGR control(right) solenoids.

The question is can I just plug in the SCV solenoid to my engine harness without hooking up any vacuum lines without throwing a code?

Any insight is appreciated!

Edit* Figured out the right side solenoid is the EGR control solenoid. The 95 KA solenoid is in a different location on the intake manifold and Ill be adapting the S13 harness to fit in that location!

Im assuming that if I just leave the solenoid hooked up to the electrical plug and not have any vacuum I wont have a CEL. Heres to hoping. Lol

Did you ever figure this out? My car didn't come with the solenoids either and my car doesn't run I'm trying to see if this might be an issue.

9 year old thread bump, dang. Those solenoids wont keep your car from running altogether. 97ka in a 95 chassis here. I had all of those solenoids removed while i was on stock ecu. Ran just fine. I recommend digging either starting your own thread including pertinent info or working your way through the FSM and pulling your ecu codes to figure out what's wrong.
