What's good can anybody give me feed back on the isis dual straight exhaust for s14 sr20?

Had one on my KA. It rested against the subframe, causing it to rattle occasionally. I ended up getting a ticket for it so I sold it. Fun exhaust if you don't give a fuck.

If you're concerned about it being too loud, it's probably not the exhaust for you haha. It looks great.

You can kinda see how far it sticks out in this picture:

It is way to loud for a daily if you dont want to worry about the fuzz. Get a dual blast pipe exhaust but with a muffler in it like a Trust DD, they still sound rowdy but are quiet off throttle and not raspy all the time

It is, indeed, a very loud exhaust. I've got the 4" duals on my S13 hatch. Put it on two weeks before my buddy and I took a road to New York to visit friends....coming from Georgia. Had earplugs in the whole trip and still ended up being half way deaf. But, that was on a N/A KA. Currently putting in a built SR and that'll probably quiet it down a bit. Cops in my area don't have a problem with it, as every bro truck down here has crazy loud exhaust.

Don't have the rattling problem with mine and I have tight urethane mounts.

That's what I plan doing, so I can relax when driving to classes in the morning and be quiet when coming home, to not wake anyone.

LOL. That happened to me that second day I put it on by accident. Went out to eat with some people, left, started reversing out of my spot and I hear a car alarm; I thought, "nah, couldn't of been me." Keep reversing and another goes off. Everyone was going :keke:

I just put them on my rb vert yesterday and today it's for sale. haha. it's fine if your in a smaller town and don't really care...but if you in a heavily populated area like me then it's a bit rowdy.. but just like i told myself...you wonderin how loud it is? it's a straight pipe. lol.

I have the buddy club spec II on my s14 on a NA ka. That shits loud as all hell without the silencer and even with the silencer its still loud. I'm thinking of buying a exhaust valve control just to ease her down at times. But I've also read that a turbo helps to quiet it up some too. I plan on going turbo after I acquire the parts.

I have the Isis dual n1 on an n/a ka, and that has a mid muffler and the two fart cans at the end. My buddy lives about 1/3 mile away from where I work, and he says when he's outside working on his car he can hear me start my car and drive off for my lunch break.

In short, yes the straight pipes will be loud.

Have the dual 4" straight on my s14. Stock s14 sr with straight pipe (no cat). Pretty loud, but since its a track car louder the better. lol I can't say much on fitment since I can't put my rear bumper on (yet). But just before the straight pipe I have a flex tube so there's is more room for adjustments. As of right now I just have aftermarket hangers and have no issues with clearance, of course this is without a rear bumper.

I had the Greddy Ti-c catback and Apexi Dual N1 and had clearance problems with diff and swaybar. This is with using belt clamps and heat wrap for the diff.

my wife's coupe has the isis mbse and I got the dual tip, so i just swapped her mid pipe with mine, and now its at a decent enough level that cops don't really look twice when i'm putzing around town.

na ka w/ isis dual tips = rice btw, it sounds terrible w/o a resonator and/or muffler

the rattling btw is probably the cross mounts on the tips rattling, the weld holding the two mounts to each other broke on mine and they rattle against each other, gotta get that globbed back tight :p :p

never got a ticket for it but my neighbors pretty much hated me over it and called the cops a bunch

might go with a blitz nurspec instead

I wouldn't do it. It will be deafeningly (see also- holy shit) loud. I have this exhaust on my SR20'd S14, and its still rowdy enough to incite neighbor hatred. So putting this on a N/A car... :bite:

Also, as far as I know, NA motors shouldn't run 3" piping unless they're superbuilt. Something about maintaining correct back pressure.

yomisiu
10-01-2011, 06:46 PM
yeah, i'll go a different route then.

i think you're wrong about the 3'' on NA KA, though.
i've read thats its been proven and stated numerous times that stock NA KA preforms better on 3''
and that the back pressure malarkey people worry about is BS.

idk, i really dont know shit about cars, don't listen to me unless someone can confirm this for the 10,000th time

That would be really loud.
Personally i've had the ISIS MBSE on an NA ka, and its literally the best sounding exhaust I've ever heard on a NA motor. i almost couldn't believe it at first. NO rasp at all, smooth sounding and fairly quiet.

Im running the 3in pipes with a turbo ka no cat and 3in downpipe. Very loud but thats no big deal around my town. Only thing I dont like about the exhaust is the fitment. Its terrible. The hangers are soo far off its retarded. And once I was able to get it in the hangers it hangs too low for my taste. It drags very regularly. And its quite annoying, but my car is very low as well.

I had an KA with Megan header and dp, 3" resonated test pipe, and the 3" dual tip.

Got enough tickets with it to buy my new exhaust. Now I have a Circuit Sports and would never go back to ISIS. Not a quality issue, just a Db issue.

yah, I've got it on my coupe

KA24DE, bolt ons, minor headwork and dual exhaust cams

exhaust is Pacesetter longtube header, Circuit Sports 3" test pipe and then the Isis blast pipes.

Needless to say, it's loud as piss. Louder than any other car I've ever heard. At WOT it's literally deafening and will leave your ears ringing. In a tunnel, you can feel your ear drums vibrating, no lie.

But if you keep it under 2000 RPMs just cruising around town, you shouldn't attract too much attention. Haven't gotten pulled since the install, but my neighbors say they use it as an alarm clock in the morning when I turn it on and leave for work.

I'll see if I can get a video with a good sound recording and I'll post it up if you'd like.

Do they stand up to abuse? Have probs with broken hangers?

How does it compare to the BC Spec 2 (yes, a different style but at nearly half the price).
